EA Sports tasked Double Tap with creating content to promote one of their biggest annual moments, the EA FC Team of the Year, while also generating excitement for the launch of FC25’s brand-new game mode, RUSH. The goal was to celebrate TOTY in a way that felt authentic and engaging to fans, and to introduce RUSH with dynamic, entertaining content that could resonate with both the core gaming community and football fans alike.
To bring TOTY to life, Double Tap leaned into creativity and fan culture by producing content with EA FC Life-Size Cards of the nominees. Akkamist highlighted his personal top 3 picks for TOTY 2024, sharing insight and personality to spark discussion, while Ilse van Esch chose her three standout players and brought them to life by recreating their iconic moves and signature celebrations. This combination of gaming and football culture proved to be a hit, amassing over 27 million views across platforms and cementing EA FC’s TOTY moment as a cultural talking point.
For FC25’s new mode, RUSH, the approach was to merge football talent with gaming challenges. Double Tap collaborated with Pitch Addict to bring in three PSG player duos, who faced off in a series of entertaining RUSH challenges. The mix of competitive gameplay, football personalities, and lighthearted moments made the content both fun and highly shareable, reaching over 3 million views to date and helping establish RUSH as an exciting new feature within FC25.
