Double Tap 5th Anniversary I Messi and Melu

Double Tap

Five years of making dreams come true

Double Tap turns five. Five years ago, in the summer of 2021, we announced our first 12 talents. We had big dreams, and one reason for existing that hasn't changed since: to give creators a platform to fulfil their dreams.

Year five tested that promise on the biggest stage football has. We took creators to the Champions League final, built a house in Miami for the World Cup, and watched one of our creators hand Lionel Messi a trophy. Here's how it went.

Year five in numbers

  • 60+ exclusive talents worldwide

  • 150+ creators hosted at Home of Creators in Miami

  • 104 World Cup matches streamed live from the house

  • 4 European finals covered

  • 30+ employees from 19 nationalities across three continents

A bigger, more global roster

Our talents are the pillar of everything we do, so this year we kept building the team. We signed more exclusive talents, taking our roster past 60 exclusive creators worldwide. It is now more complete and more global than ever, with voices from every corner of the football internet.

Ara y Fer I Double Tap

Official creator agency of Europe's top leagues

We continued as Ligue 1's official creator agency, and this year Serie A joined us too. We brought creators from all over the world to experience top-flight football in France and Italy. Not just the 90 minutes, but the cities, the food and the culture that make each league what it is.

Double Tap Studios: where we own the story

This was the year we established Double Tap Studios, the future of Double Tap. Studios is where we create and own content ourselves. Its first project set the tone.

Frank Ilett, aka The United Strand, had promised not to cut his hair until Manchester United won five games in a row. Nearly 500 days in, with the fifth win one match away, he went live.. Matty FC, Aviv Levy, Edi Quixinho and Footebate joined him.

5 in a row The United Strand stream

At its peak, over 300 thousand people were watching at once. The stream averaged almost 50 thousand viewers across nearly four hours and generated more than 170,000 hours watched. United drew 1–1, the streak reset and the hair survived. The moment crossed over into mainstream media all the same, and kept people on their toes until today.

Studios didn't stop there:

  • Matty FC travelled to 11 World Cup host cities across the USA to find out which one has the best football culture.

  • Away with Amy launched, following Amy Rose Finely as she accompanies Aston Villa to every Champions League away game of the 2026/27 season, discovering the cities, the food and the football culture at each stop.

The biggest brands in football and beyond

We kept working with the biggest names in football, sport and beyond, including EA, adidas, Nike, Heineken, PUMA, Panini, Hisense, Polymarket and many more.

40,000 people, one documentary

In March, the entire Johan Cruyff Arena in Amsterdam filled up. Not for a match or a concert, but for the premiere of a docuseries on Johan Cruyff, released on the tenth anniversary of his passing.

Together with SportVibes and Lusus, we handled marketing, communications, social media, content and PR. The night generated €3.6 million in media value, and we also brought Footebate and The United Strand to Amsterdam to live the whole experience and tell it their own way.

Every final that mattered

The European finals gave us something to remember. Double Tap and our creators were present at all four: the Champions League, the Europa League, the Conference League and the Women's Champions League. When football has a big moment, we're there.

The World Cup: a real Home of Creators

When we started, "Home of Creators" was a metaphor. This summer, at the biggest sporting event in history, it became a real house.

For 40 days, we ran a creator house in Miami that streamed all 104 World Cup matches live, and more than 150 creators from over 30 nationalities came through its doors.

  • 300+ hours of livestreams

  • 2,000+ pieces of content, plus 500+ posts on creators' own channels

  • 8 events, from Colombia Nights and a Latin Party to a Fourth of July celebration, FIFA World Cup Launch Edition Gaming Party and a final watchalong

  • 4 partners: FIFA World Cup: Launch Edition, Hisense, Vita Coco and Michelob ULTRA

Miami House I Double Tap

The backyard became a watchalong spot, the terrace a footvolley court, and the kitchen a stage for cooking battles. FIFA's Gaming Couch stopped by for the quarter-finals. Miki Noëlle and Lili Cantero turned the casita into a canvas. And Hisense sat Fabrizio Romano down with Roberto Baggio to relive Baggio's greatest World Cup goals.

Fabrizio, Luva de Pedreiro, Ara y Fer, Mercedes Roa, StuntPegg, Ganindra Bimo and The United Strand are just some of the creators who passed through, created and bonded.

In July 2020, one of our goals for the future read: "To honestly say that we have built a home for creators, a community." This summer, we can.

Beyond the house

Our World Cup went further than Miami. We took creators to matches, hosted events and collaborated with FIFA, topped off with a final in New York/New Jersey, with the Double Tap Family present.

World Cup Final I Double Tap

Melu Bertetti met Messi

For every Argentine, Lionel Messi is more than a footballer. For Melu Bertetti, meeting him was the dream.

Melu was selected to present the Michelob ULTRA Superior Player of the Match trophy. To Lionel Messi himself. Face to face, in the middle of a World Cup.

El Scarso made Tim Payne a legend

A few weeks before the tournament, our own Valentín Scarsini, aka El Scarso, asked a question nobody else was asking: what if the least famous player at the World Cup became the main character?

He went through all 48 squads and found Tim Payne with 4.700 followers, who gained more than 3 million followers within a week.

Just days before the World Cup, Valen flew to Florida to watch New Zealand play and shake Tim's hand in person. A week earlier, the two had never spoken.

Fabrizio, still breaking news and records

Five years after announcing him as our first talent and the first Deadline Day stream, we're still by Fabrizio Romano's side. This year his English YouTube channel passed 3 million subscribers. We’ve continued to collaborate with the biggest football journalist in the world on the commercial and creative side, celebrating milestones together.

From a living room to three continents

Double Tap started as four people in a living room. Today we're more than 30 employees from 19 nationalities, working across 3 continents.

We celebrated our fifth birthday in our newly renovated office in Barcelona, with more than 150 creators, clients, friends, family and teammates.

Double Tap Team

Here's to the next five

It's been an incredible ride, and we're only getting started. Thank you to every creator who trusted us, every brand that took a chance on football creators, and every person who has worn the Double Tap shirt.

Whatever the dream, whatever its size or shape, we'll be there to help make it happen.
