How Our Creators Kicked Off the FIFA World Cup 2026: From the Inside
The countdown to the FIFA World Cup 2026 officially began in Washington DC and this time, creators weren’t watching from the sidelines. They were embedded at the heart of the moment.
The Final Draw marked the first major milestone of the tournament, setting the competitive stage for what will become the biggest World Cup in history. Hosted in the US capital, the event brought together a global audience, a star-studded lineup of presenters and performers, and football legends including Thierry Henry and Kaká. It was football culture, entertainment, and anticipation converging in one room.
And from the very start, creators were part of that story.
Bringing the World Cup to Life Through Creators
In collaboration with FIFA, Double Tap curated and managed a group of 10 content creators from the three host nations, the United States, Canada, and Mexico to experience the Final Draw first-hand and capture it through their own lenses.
These creators weren’t just there to observe. They were there to translate the moment into culture, emotion, and storytelling that fans around the world could instantly connect with.

Access That Changes the Story
From the moment they arrived, the experience was designed to reflect the scale of the occasion. Seamless transport, red-carpet receptions, floor seating, and premium access placed creators at the centre of the action not behind the scenes, but alongside history as it was being made.
This level of access matters. When creators are treated as partners rather than peripherals, the content becomes more authentic, more immediate, and more impactful.
Across the event, the creators produced nearly 90 original pieces of content, capturing everything from behind-the-scenes anticipation to live reactions and cultural moments that traditional coverage often misses.
The Impact, by the Numbers
The results speak for themselves:
5.9+ million views
323,000+ likes
Dozens of moments shared in real time with global audiences
Why This Matters for World Cup 2026™
As we move closer to 2026, one thing is clear: the World Cup experience extends far beyond the pitch. Culture, creators, and community will define how the tournament is remembered especially for younger, digital-first audiences.
The Final Draw was proof of what’s possible when creators are integrated early, given meaningful access, and empowered to tell stories their way. This is the future of major sporting events — and it’s already happening.
