Double Tap

What Happens When You Send Two Football Creators to MotoGP?

Thrown Into the Fast Lane

Two of our creators, Nieve Petruzziello (StuntPegg) and Ellis Platten, took us behind the scenes of MotoGP Indonesia, capturing the event in ways we had never seen before. What they found was a mix of speed, spectacle, and culture that redefined how we see the sport.

360km/h and Hooked Instantly

For Nieve, this was her first MotoGP experience, and it began at full throttle. With bikes reaching top speeds of 360 kilometres per hour, even faster than Formula 1 cars. She was immediately immersed in the intensity of the sport. From walking past the pit boxes to a casual stroll on the Mandalika Circuit. She shared every moment with her followers and brought fans along for the ride. One of her highlights came when she interviewed Jack Appleyard: MotoGP’s lead presenter and reporter, moments before race day kicked off.

When the Culture Takes the Stage

Before the racing began, Nieve joined the crowd for a traditional Indonesian performance on the track. It was a moment of colour and pride that captured the spirit of the country. “It felt like every detail mattered,” she said.

The Team Behind the Speed

She was amazed to learn that each rider has a team of around forty people behind them, all working towards one goal. That scale, that precision, it blew her mind. Through her lens, Nieve captured MotoGP from a fresh angle: part high-octane sport, part cultural masterpiece.

A Game Beyond the Track

As an extra, Nieve Petruziello spent a day immersed in the energy of her first-ever football match in Asia, watching Persita Tangerang in action. She sampled local snacks and drinks, chatted with fans, and joined the crowd in full voice. The atmosphere was electric, loud, proud, and overflowing with passion. It was another expression of Indonesia’s deep love for sport, echoing the same spirit she’d witnessed at MotoGP. Nieve soaked in the action as the Cisadane Warriors secured victory over Semen Padang at the Indomilk Arena.

10,000 Miles for a Miracle

Then came Ellis Platten, who flew 10,000 miles to witness what he called a sporting miracle. Ellis went in search of MotoGP’s soul and found it in the most unpredictable place imaginable. He spent time with fans, locals, and crew members. All of whom spoke with the same passion and intensity that pulsed through the entire weekend.

The Story Behind 108 Crashes

What struck him most was how open everything felt. Riders and legends wandered the paddock, chatting with fans as if it were the most normal thing in the world. “MotoGP is the most unpredictable sport I’ve ever seen,” he said. You could feel the pressure before a single light went out.

A Rookie’s Rise and Champagne Showers

Ellis ranked MotoGP above American football and hockey for sheer intensity. He watched a rookie claim his first-ever win, followed by a champagne shower that soaked the paddock and the crowd in celebration. Standing inches from the winning bike, he captured the emotion of the moment, raw, unfiltered, unforgettable.

Asia’s Craziest Football Fans

Ellis got to experience what he called Asia’s craziest football fans in Indonesia. The moment he stepped into the Persita Tangerang stadium, he was struck by how beautiful it looked, painted in Persita’s signature purple and filled with energy. The club welcomed them with open arms, gifting shirts and local treats like lemper ayam, kue pancong, and pandan cake. Between the chants and celebrations, Ellis spoke with goalkeeper Igor Rodrigues and saw firsthand the warmth and pride that define Indonesian football.

For him, it was one of the best local experiences of the trip.

Indonesia Stole the Show

Together, Nieve and Ellis showed us two sides of sport in Indonesia. Nieve captured it through curiosity and wonder. Ellis saw it through grit and storytelling. What they uncovered wasn’t just a race or a game. It was a living, breathing community built on passion, pride, and unbelievable speed.
