Pol Deportes, whose real name is Cliver Huaman Sanchez, is famous for his incredible journey from narrating the Copa Libertadores final atop a hill in Lima, Peru, to fulfilling his dream of narrating a Champions League game at the Santiago Bernabéu in Spain. His story began in the small town of Andahuaylas, where, with the constant support of his family, he nurtured his passion for sports commentary.

Pol Deportes is now one of Peru’s most famous narrators for national and international games.  His inspiring story led him to captivate over 2 million fans across several platforms like YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook, inspiring audiences worldwide with his dedication and unique voice. Pol Deportes has collaborated with national brands like Incarail and Cosas, as well as the international cruise line Royal Caribbean.

The voice that rose above

What started as a high school nickname has grown into a symbol of resilience, passion and love for football. Determined to experience South America’s biggest tournaments, the legendary Copa Libertadores, he decided to cover the event himself. Coming from a small town with limited resources, he did something remarkable:

• He collected money from people in his town.

• He boarded a long-distance bus traveling for hours with hope and ambition.

His goal was to be there. To report and to live the experience.

Unfortunately, the attempt did not go as planned. He was unsuccessful in getting the access or outcome he had hoped for. But this is where the real story begins.

Most people would have given up, but Pol didn’t. Instead of letting the failed attempt define him, he climbed on a hilltop, pulled out his phone, and began narrating. As simple as it is.
